California Real Estate News - Week of 10/17/14

This was a slow week of news relating to real estate so the two main pieces featured are jumping on the bandwagon of featuring Donald Trump. Both the LA Times and Curbed LA posted pieces about Trump's struggles to expand his empire in Southern California. While he does have a very impressive resume, after countless attempts to nudge his way into Los Angeles, and southern California in general, he does not have a whole lot to show for it.

The two biggest failures highlighted in both articles was the fall-through of Trump's proposed 125-story hotel in the old Ambassador Hotel location and Rancho Palos Verdes golf course, which he put $250 million into but is only worth about $10 million today (according to one of Trump's tax attorneys).
